Have Eyes on the Corner Office?

If so, drink more coffee. In a recent Office pulse study of professionals across the U.S., executives (sr. manager or higher) were found to drink coffee more often than their non executive counterparts.  That’s right; those in management positions drink nearly 3 cups a day. By that standard, I should definitely have my own company by now. I currently drink seven cups a day.

Women in management positions drink the most, with more than half drinking 3 or more cups a day. In addition to what they brew at home or in the office, over 75% of these women purchase at least one cup a day during the week.

So why all the coffee Mr. and Mrs. Management? Results from the study show that these executives find it necessary to drink so much coffee in order to stay sharp and alert during their work day (3x higher than average) and coffee allows them to take a nice break during a buy day (+83%).

It turns out that taste has little to do with the consumption of coffee these days, according to our study, which reports that more people mentioned energy, alertness, and pick-me-up rather than taste. However, don’t tell that to women in middle management who reported that loving the taste of coffee was very important (40%).

Finally, when describing their coffee drinking behavior, there was one thing that all people could agree on……

At least one in three people cannot start their day without a cup of coffee.

Personally, I cannot start my day until after the third cup.
