The “Workaholic” Boss

Employees with a work-aholic boss tend to be the most likely to be in the market for a new job. Because the boss works so much, employees feel forced to do the same, often resulting in a variety of problems including stress and depression. How can you spot a work-aholic boss, he or she takes no time for personal activities during the day.

The “Judge and Jury” Boss

Do your peers rate your performance very high but your boss rates you much lower? You may work for a judgemental boss. Those most likely to work for are typically 35-54, working in a small office, making between $40-$75K. Finally, if you are unhappy in personal life and suffering from stress, depression or smoking excessively, it might be time to ask for a transfer.

The “Empty Suit” Boss

An unproductive boss may be one of the easiest to deal with. While he or she may be leaving the office quite a bit (going home or for walks) or spending time onleine (planning a trip or tweeting), the employee is still able to manage some work/life balance. Although unhappy professionally, the employee with an unproductive boss is happy in their personal life.
