Professionals Ready for Fantasy Football Season

Nearly 1 in 5 (18%) business professionals will take part in a fantasy football league this year, according to an Office Pulse study of 537 white-collar workers. Those who are in a league aren’t just waiting until game day to set their lineups. They’re eating into the workday, spending a whopping 72 minutes per week crafting their team to perfect the perfect lineup.

The numbers stereotypically spike when looking at male business professionals, with just under 1 in 3 (32%) men taking part in a fantasy football league, compared with just 11% of female workers. Even more intriguing, nearly a quarter (23%) of men will join a league with their coworkers.

Other fantasy football insights include:

  • 27% of people interested in joining a fantasy football league are at or above a Senior Management level
  • 18% of men have brought a coworker into a fantasy league organized outside of their workplace
  • 23% of men will join more than one league
  • 21% of senior managers will join a league with their coworkers
  • The average amount people are paying for their league is $63
